when we were born as coyotes
we drove the moon insane
with our yellow eyes
we pulled in the gravity
I would howl at the moon at night
trying to tell her she’s beautiful
but she turned around and the sun came out
every night that I spent alone, trying to figure out, wheres my home?
I never knew that I was part of the canines family
raised by a pack
trying to figure out why
I landed right smack on this ground
never realized that I’d pick up your scent, never thought that I’d be following your footprints
so I call to the moon, but the moons half asleep
all drugged up, trying to get some rest
so I look to the sun but I’m blinded by his light
staring into space all confused about these unknown shapes
gotta go my own way
no ones helping me
I speak a different language, you can shoot me with your metal guns
I feel where I’m headed cause I got a pretty strong nose
I can smell where their coming from
I can smell where I’m going and I,
I know how to run, I don’t know how to swim but I can learn how to dive
when it comes to my life I should know how to fight instead of having the sky fight my battles
